The SILAB and the NTN Innovation Booster of Innosuisse

The SILAB presents the FUTURE HEALTHCARE NTN

Based on accumulated knowledge and expertise in this field, the SILAB, the Source Innovation Laboratory of La Source, is applying to the National Thematic Network (NTN) Innovation Booster 2021-2024 tender call as defined and funded by Innosuisse.

Under the name FUTURE HEALTHCARE, this network will be the first swiss consortium to gather actors active in the field of health around nursing and patient care, be it in hospitals, clinics, at home or in nursing/retirement homes.

In this consortium, healthcare is defined in a very broad sense and will include all innovation that may result in improving the way care is provided to patients in all situations they may encounter throughout their care pathway.

The FUTURE HEALTHCARE will allow to discuss, challenge, share, assess, test, evaluate or validate ideas, services or technology, using an agile-like methodology and expert knowledge of healthcare professionals.

Th healthcare of tomorrow is an issue

Health is a rapidly evolving field that requires innovative solutions, both technological and human, low tech or high tech, to tackle the upcoming challenges of the healthcare system in order to foster and improve access for all to care of an ever-increasing quality.

Now, it is widely recognized that the professional category of nursing staff, caregivers and healthcare providers is not taken enough into account when it comes to conceiving or deploying innovation in healthcare. That is why, based on solid literature and SILAB’s own experience and existing partnerships, the FUTURE HEALTHCARE NTN will greatly rely on, and facilitate access to, expertise brought by these professionals as they represent the largest part of care professionals, and know patient’s needs as their action spans the whole spectrum of patient-related activities.

Furthermore, the structure of this network will boost the transfer of knowledge and technology in both ways, by submitting innovation to the evaluation and testing competences of caregiving staff and by exploiting ideas from caregivers to develop products and services.
