{"id":389,"date":"2019-12-10T08:36:57","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T07:36:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ecolelasource.ch\/en\/?page_id=389"},"modified":"2025-09-18T12:09:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T10:09:19","slug":"summer-universities-abroad","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ecolelasource.ch\/en\/international\/study-abroad\/summer-universities-abroad\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer universities"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Why Summer University?<\/h2>\n<h3>For students<\/h3>\n<p>Summer University (SU) affords all UAS students in the Canton of Vaud the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>learn about other work methods; discover other cultures;<\/li>\n<li>develop a personal international network;<\/li>\n<li>learn to interact in a different professional context;<\/li>\n<li>develop work-related travel skills; and<\/li>\n<li>build communication competencies in a new environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students receive ECTS credits for their participation and SU validation.<\/p>\n<h3>For professors<\/h3>\n<p>SU represents an opportunity for professors as well. It allows them to try out new teaching approaches and content in collaboration with professors abroad.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Though the number of places available varies from one project to the next, the basic eligibility requirements are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be enrolled in a School of Higher Education in the Canton of Vaud<\/li>\n<li>have successfully completed the first year of a programme<\/li>\n<li>submit academic records, letters of reference, and a cover letter<\/li>\n<li>have all modules and practicums validated at time of exchange<\/li>\n<li>be sufficiently proficient in English (Courses are given in English. Selected applicants must take an English course the semester prior to the exchange.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Duration, structure and focus<\/h2>\n<p>The exchange lasts from 2 to 4 weeks. The programme is co-constructed by the partners and focuses on current issues in nursing.<\/p>\n<h2>&nbsp;Programme<\/h2>\n<p>The programme consists of courses, practicums, seminars and healthcare site visits.
