Part of the La Source Foundation
The La Source Institute and School of Nursing is, like the Clinique de La Source, part of the La Source Foundation, a private non-profit organisation.
It comprises the School of Nursing and the La Source Institute, whose respective missions complete and feed one another.
As a faculty of the HES-SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland, the La Source School of Nursing:
- provides professional training to HES nurses (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and continuing professional development and post-graduate education in the field of health and social services. It awards academic degrees recognized by the Swiss Confederation;
- conducts research programmes that contribute to the effectiveness and evolution of care in a society in flux. It produces results that advance knowledge, know-how and competencies through interprofessional collaboration;
- offers tailored services such as consultancy, practice analyses, expert assessments, and training; and
- develops international collaborative relationships with other schools of higher learning and with health institutions to allow students and faculty members to enhance their competencies, establish partnerships, and broaden their networks.
The La Source Institute
- develops training activities, studies and interventions in its specific areas of expertise;
- facilitates an international nursing network to promote knowledge and know-how dissemination, as well as professional exchanges;
- manages and valorises the La Source Foundation archives, which have been kept since 1859; and organises seminars and conferences concerning major health and social issues.
